Finally some good news for Trekkers; the long-awaited Trek series is in production.
Last year, after Bryan Fuller stepped down as Executive Producer of ‘Star Trek: Discovery’, the series was considerably delayed.
According to (www.StarTrek.com), CBS made an announcement regarding Discovery’s production.
The production is taking place at CBS studios in Toronto, Canada.
The series promises new adventures, new crews, new villains, new heroes and new worlds in the Star Trek Universe.
The series is set almost a decade before the events of ‘Star Trek: The Original Series’.
It is about the adventures of USS Discovery and its crew members.
The USS Discovery will be captained by Lieutenant Commander Rainsford or ‘Number One’, played by Sonequa Martin-Green.
Star Trek: Discovery was set to debut in May 2017, but due to delays, this release date has been pushed back. The expected new release date will be sometime in mid to late 2017 (hopefully!).
